Jayde heads back to the Scooby house for some sleep [For Rachel, this is obviously a phantasy setting :). ].

Saturday, 7:43am, Wake up.

Get up early (to the sound of Dawn singing Brittney songs in the shower, curse this Slayer hearing. No wonder buffy wanted to die.).

Head downstairs and pour some Sugar-O's. Dawn comes down and joins Jayde and they sit and watch some morning cartoons TV and MTV.

Saturday, 9:03am, Everyone gets together.

Giles arrives, rather flustered and annoyed. He's just got a letter from Ethan about a 'fountain pen' that can influence peoples actions that "...you should keep an eye out for, Ripper".

Willow figures that any chaos Ethan's stuff causes will be reported on the SDPD computers, so she hacks in and she, Tara and Dawn will take turns keeping an eye on the incoming police reports.

Turn the notebook (from car crash guy) over to the scoobies. Much researching.

Giles and Michael train Jayde and the Buffy bot down in the basement.

Saturday, 9:34am, New arrival.

Tara says visitor.

Izmay dresses a bit like chuv, but apparently doesnt have the spooky powers. Talk about useless :).

She introduces herself and Jayde goes hmmmmm. Taking Jayde's 'uh-huh' in her stride :)

Izmay then formally introduces herself to Mr Giles who is quite impressed in a British way with Izmay :). "Your manners are a pleasant change. Hmm, from your accent Id have to say..... Cambridge?"

"Ah, alas not, Im afraid. Although my English teacher did get her Doctate there."

"Oh where did you study then?"

"Oh, I havnt studied at a university, just International Baccalaureate at Institut Le Rosey, in Switzerland. Mostly humanities and languages, when I could get away with it, but naturally I couldnt avoid all the sciences."

"Oh, excellent!" Giles, you're staring. Earth to Giles? Ya know, Im faintly disturbed. *shudder*

"I wasnt the best student in the school but I did win the unoffical 'Richard Helms' prize as student most likley to follow in the shoes of.. um.. an Alumni."

Giles looks a little puzzeled.

Xander asks "Do you want some coffee?" His chivalry, or maybe some other part of his brain making him interested in this new arrival. Oh not him too. What? Now Xander is interested in some Eurotrash, Giles clone? I dont think its healthy for him to hang around this house all day.

Izmay smiles, "Bitte".

"Bitter? You want bitter coffee? Is that like no sugar?"

"Oh Im terribly sorry. You'll have to excuse me." She sounds plenty watcher like to me. "Im afraid English isnt my first language. It takes me a while to switch into it."

Giles can barely contain his enthusiasm, but tries to look casual as he asks, "Oh, really? What language do you normally speak?"

"Actually, Latin is my first language, then German, French, English..."

"Who learns latin as a first language?" Jayde asks disgusted. People resist taking bets on if Giles might be in lurrrrrrve.

"...Egyptian, Hebrew and some other more rare ones, that I only pretend to know." Is that ment to be funny? Eeeew, Giles is giggling. Errk. Wash my brain. "Im sure you know the sort of thing, Mr Giles."

*start three year old voice* Im suuuuuuure you know the sort of thing, Miisssssster Giiiiiiles. tee-hee-hee. *end three year old voice* Gag me with a spoon!

Giles may just explode with glee. "Fascinating." You can almost hear him think, 'geee, kids these days, maybe they arnt all bad....'

Izmay turns to Jayde, "Oh, well when you have been selected to host someone like Lucy, one tends to need to learn her natural language. It eases the transference of memorys and the thought processes. Om not sure I understand it all, but thats what Im told." Yeah, right.

'You sure sound like a watcher to me.' jayde mumbles low enough that noone else can hear.

"Anyway, Lucy thought that it was best that I came out here to help out while she was occupied in Berkeley. Wonderful coffee by the way Xander." Is she a suck or what?

Giles clears his throat and obviously tries to put on his stern serious face. "Hmm. So, Lucy, um, yes. Ive been wondering about what Jayde told us about her."

"Oh yes, she's Lucius. Im sure you were wondering that." Oh how perky.

Giles blinks a few times obviously stunned. "Lucius. Roman, Golden Dawn Lucius? 653ad Lucius?"

"654, yes."

"But..." Giles starts.

"What?" the scoobies ask.

Izmay smiles that superior little smile that Jayde herself used to flash back at school when she knew something that everyone else didnt, like just who wasnt going to be asked to the Prom by Gerard Pullman, that Linebacker that Wendy had the hots for. "The one and only, although you shouldnt believe everything that your read Mr Giles."

"Giles, who was Lucius?"

"He was a tribal warlord on the borders of Rome. Some legends say he was a Roman himself. Anyway, he organised a resistance and the Romans went in to crush him, but he destoyed an entire legion. Not something that the Romans were very forgiving of. If I remember correctly," and what are the chances that you dont, eh Giles? "He sent their heads back to the emperor and managed to raid some of the more important temples back in Rome. Naturally Rome retaliated and destroyed his people."

Will this never end?

"Legend has it that..."

Apparently not.

"...he appeared at a Golden Dawn library in Egypt some time later. Apparently he walked into their library but they were too afraid to follow him. When they finally went to look for him, he was never found."

I know that look on a Watcher. You're not telling us everything, Giles. "You're not telling us everything, Giles."

"The name is said to be the origin of the name Lucifer."

"What!" says just about everyone.

"Why Mister Giles, you've read Fenwick's Black Chronical!" Izmay shakes an accusing finger at Giles, "'He'll know'."

"Err, no. I had a friend who told me that... er." Giles seems a little rattled. "Er, yes. Yes I have read them."

Willow punches Giles in the arm, "Giles?", by way of asking for an explination.

Giles turns and reports in Watcher mode. "The Black Chronicals cover many of the myths associated the fall of the Roman empire. They hint, that Lucius somehow removed the supernatural protection that kept the empire strong. It also says that all who read the book are marked by him and cursed." Giles sits up straight and clears his throat. "I dont believe it, naturally."

Izmay just smiles. "Lucia was the daughter of a Roman general. Being a naughty little imp, when she couldnt join the Legion as her brothers did, she ran away and joined up with the local warlord. She organised his defences against the Romans and orchestrated their defeat. Apparently there was some trouble with the warlord that she hasnt talked about but she realised that the Romans would strike back and that the tribe was doomed, so she managed to convince him to give her 24 of his finest warriors to take the battle to Rome."

Zzzzzzzz. Nodoze me up, people.

"She travelled to the capital of the empire and raided the temple of Jupiter, the richest in Rome. She used the gold to talk her way into the games, where gifts were given to the empror from his dominions. Anyway, somehow she switched the gold with the heads of the legon and their broken standard. Needless to say that didnt go down too well and the Empror ordered the tribe crushed and their lands salted. To cap it all off and really rub it in, she burnt the temple of Mars, God of War, to the ground. Along the way, Rome ended up with an active underground resistance that took 2 decades to eradicate."

"The Golden Dawn were pretty open in Rome at the time and their status as a powerful secret and occult society attracted her attention. She raided them and captured their chief librarian and also the orders planner."

"Noone is sure what happened next, but the next record is that one of the Orders schollars turns up at The Archive in Egypt, with his 'student'. It took the most part of a year before the Order put it together and worked out that he was the one kidnapped from Rome."

"By that time Lucia had progressed much of the way towards becoming a member of the Order. Naturally she was imprisioned and the librarian questioned, but he never said what happened, only fearfully saying 'She'll know'. Anyway to cut a long story short..."

Short!? This is the short version?

"... eventually they came to see that she had changed and she was reluctantly accepted into. Lucy has a thing for 'myth' and 'reputation' and kind of worked hard on the whole 'spooky' Black Chronical thing. From what I can gather she wrote big chunks of it herself and it skirts that fine line between lie and truth. Anyway, shes proven herself time and time again to the Order."

"Uh-huh." says a sceptial Xander. Willow's body language isnt exactly radiating 'trust'.

"Ive touched her thoughts. I know what she thinks and how she feels about who she was back then. Being a host isnt a process of being taken over, its a merging. We both have to accept it and she's taken great lengths to show me who she is and what she feels. People change and she's no different. She's made mistakes and she knows it." Izmay smiles, "But she isnt above using her past to make a helpful reputation."

People ponder amongst themselves.

Giles talks about council and the war council and feeling responsible (for some reason none of us can remeber). Everybody listens and they says 'get over it'.

Saturday, 11:54pm, find beehive.

Spell is done to locate the beehive. Hey, its that away.

Plan is made. Breaking the hive will be enough to break the spell. Dawn suggests taking a sheet to trap the bees.

Michael, Jayde and Tara head off. Past the outskirts of sunnydale. Some driving takes you to a pit stop on the road out of town. Its a gararge and Jayde's slayer training tells her to check that out :).

Jayde & M go check it out. On the roof, the bees seem to indicate the garage.

Tara keeps people busy while the others break in.

Jayde and M sneak around and find the hive and smash it.

Back to sunnydale.

Saturday, 4:00pm, back in sunnydale.

Tara goes off and tells willow, "I was a decoy!!!".

Police computer says that the there seems to be a crime surge at the mall. 2 'fraud', some suspicious atm guy. Shoplifting spike (in number not blonde haired vamps). One was an argument at a Dunkin Donuts which police checked out.

ATM guy: gray trackydacks and faded red hoody, sneakers. Male, 30ish, darkhair.

Notebook, 80% of the names are female, mostly land lines. Phone# that are repeated are for a apartment block in, 3 differnt apartment land lines. Could just be a weird guy. Looked like a setup, but got spidery sense.

Saturday, 7:00pm, Patroling sunnydale.

Patrol with michael and the buffy bot.

Micheal chats about offical police problems etc and how he might be able to make some of them go away. Maybe.

Saturday, 9:00pm, Visit the appartment block.

Visit appartment block. 4 story, ground = carparks, 3 flats per floor for 1-3. Phone numbers go to 1, 1 & 3.

Saturday, 10:00pm, More patroling.

Fight 3 vamps in the graveyard. 2 on the buffy bot and one sneaking round behind with a stick. Jayde intercepts and takes the stick and applies to the head. She then is charged by another vamp who tackels her but she kicks him in the family jewels and he drops to one knee. Jayde then sniggers for a short while and then whips out the stake and does the dusting.

Jayde then saunters over to join michael watching the buffy bot fight. The buffy bot isnt that good at fighting, kind of like Mary.

Sunday, 12:30am, Done patroling.

Dropped off at the bronze. Happenin' place and all, people inside and out. Jayde goes in and climbs up to scope the place out.

Spot Izmay talking to a very pregnant lady at a table.

Spot a 40 year old with waving comb over flapping like a madman on the dance floor. Like eeew.

Make way over to the bar and try and get a drink. Bar tender just stares, unconvinced, so she settles for a softdrink. Take a seat and watch. Ethan Raine smiles back from over the bar. He indicates a vampire and points to the back of the bronze.

Give up and go dancing and meet some cute guys. Dance for a while and end up getting a drink with Gill Turner, a student at UCsd. Gill goes to get some drinks. Hes not found around here. Jaydes just visiting friends.

Ethan comes over, "Look, sorry to interupt, but I need to chat to your girlfriend for a bit, mate." Ethan points Jayde out the back and off she goes.

Perv around at all the people in the darkness. Spot a vamp heading on out the back. Follow. Spider sense from the guy and a momentry one from the bronze. Down alley in shadows he attack. Jayde rushes in and stakes, and gets sneezed on for her troubles.

Head abck to the Bronze and see ethan chatting to a guy in a suit. Ethan says hes a talent scout for Supernatural company. Jayde sounds kind of interested. Ethan says that they take contractors or employees.

Ethan talks about contracting and employment and the various groups who'd be intersted in hiring Jayde. Jayde isnt above knocking off the odd person for her employer. Ethan say that slayer for hire might be where the big bucks are. Eathan says that as an indipendant contractor he'd probably recommend trading for magic artifacts to make the job easier (weapons etc). There is the magical company, a cabal in washinton, an indipentant contract in SanDiago (2 demons help by a cabal who control the city, and $$ if they were offed). Oh and that he'd suggest solving the problem in Berkeley before following this as a job. Ethan leaves, happy in his work.

Sunday, 2:30am, Done partying.

Sunday, 9:38am, Wake up.

Jayde tells Xander that Buffy was so much more interested in him in her universe. Brilliant.

People roll up and do more research. 250% increase in shoplifting at the mall, definatly have to check that out. Jayde heads off to secure the mall for all humanity. Dawn is soooooooooo there.

Dawn gets a list of shops and she and Jayde go shopping. Jayde is forced to pay 'cash', which is kind of depressing. A couple of hundred and then lunch and a bit more shopping and home. Keep the odd eye out but dont see anything.

Jayde thinks that its a whole lot of glammers and a glammered piece of paper that looks like a reciept.

Call back to slayer central and it seems that there havnt been any more shoplifting things since then.

Oh well, off home them.

Sunday, 5:00pm, Back home.

Gang have researched a 'watch' that allows the stopping of time. So we have, the watch, the pen, the mall.

Jaydes plan for the evening: Eat, watch TV, try stuff on, Patrol, avoid research. Jayde is a little peeved that people arnt researching her problem. Sheesh, no respect!

Monday, 8:00am, Waking up.

Up and get Dawn off to school etc. Everyone else is spread around, Xander works building the school, Anya and Giles at magic shop, Willow at UCSD. Only Tara, the buffy bot and Jayde are home.

There is a knock at the door and Jayde opens it to find a lady from Social Services. Jayde goes and talks to Tara who decides that its probably best to give the buffybot a go. [ Dawn was skipping classes, etc, is buffy a good mother. ]

Buffy bot is doooooomed.

"Buffy, my name is..."

"Miss Sally Decker, department of social services, I remember. We talked on the phone."

"Good, good. You remember you're normal social worker is on leave and Ive been assigned to cover your case?" Turning to Jayde, "we havnt been introduced."

The buffybot springs into action, "Miss Decker, this is Jayde. Jayde, Miss Decker, Tara, Jayde, Jayde, Tara, Buffy, Tara...." etc. Leaving everyone blinking.

"Err, right. Um, so Jayde, how do you know the family."

Jayde starts "Well Im a fr...."

Buffybot interupts "Jayde is a friend of Faiths."

Sallly asks "Who is Faith?"

"Evil psycho, who tried to kill us all. She's insane and i am to kill her if she comes near any of my friends. Do you want some tea?"

"Um. Err. Um. Ive got some coffee, thanks."

Jayde pipes up and helpfully adds "Oh buffy, you kidder." Jayde grabs a book and flees to a corner of the room. "Im just going over here to, err, read."

Sally blinks a few times like a stunned mullet except with eyebrows "Dont I have a police report with you and faith?"

"Oh yes. Faith killed the depty mayor, Alan Finch and the police questioned us both."

"Really?" Sally pauses, before asking "How exactly were you involved?"

"Me? I hadnt been built, then. I was only told about it later."

"Err, you said built?"

Tara tries to explain that away with some long explination about how "Faith was a gang member and wanted Buffy to join, but there was an initiation, but Buffy didnt want to do it so she ran away and that those wacky kids call it 'built'. Its the hip term for joining the gang." Tara is all red and flustered. "No really."

Sally just stares at Tara for a bit, before turning to the Buffybot. She obviously wants to say something, but obviously nothing leaps to mind.

The buffy bot's social programming kicks in and she eases the awkward moemnt by adding "Police involvement isnt required. Faith confessed to the murder when was arrested by the LAPD where she was unlawfully imprisioned."

Sally sighs, accepting her doom and asks, "Unlawfully?"

"Yes. Faith was a minor at the time. By section 743.233)a)ii, the Cali dept of Corrections failed in its obligations to contact her legal gardian, the Boston/MA department of child services case file number MA-8483944."

"*blinks* How do you know all this?"

"Dawn was conserned about her custody given the situation and should anything happen to me. She had me research the legal situation for herself."

"You learned all this researching the custody laws."

"Yes. The law very well defined. This allows me to quickly parse and cross index all applicable laws. It seemed prudent to read all the State law on children, minors and gardians."

"You read it all? Thats quite a bit of law."

"Yes. Once I discovered that it was available on CD, the process was much quicker than watching episodes of Judge Judy."

Sally seems to have a headache "You seem very dedicated to this."

"Dawns welfare and situation is one of my main priorities. Besides Not sleeping with spike, Killing Faith if she comes back, paying the bills and saving the world, naturally."

"Err, yes. Naturally."

"It wasnt all my work though, Dawn did a lot of the work, she showed me Judge Judy and the UCsunnydale online law archive."

"Well, Buffy it seems that the report I have here under-estimates your dedication to your sister."

"Oh, Dawn is a level 1 priority."

"Well thats just.... err... excellent. How is her school situation?"

"Dawn's school situation is going well. I make her do her homework before she can save the world too."

Migraine. "Err, I see."

"Good."

"Err, well I think I have a good feel for your situation."

"Is there anything else I can help you with then?"

"Err, no. no. I think Ill be going. I can show myself out."

The buffy bot smiles. Tara walks over and hopefully offers, "That went ok." Then she pleads "Didnt it?"

"Yeah, except for the thing about the gang...." Observes Jayde.

Tara sits down and puts her head in her hands. "Oh, I should have waited utill Willow was here."

"Yeah and maybe never let the buffy bot talk to anyone ever again." Jayde suggests.

"Wel.. errr.. if.. if we just convince them that Buffy isnt into any gang activity, then it wont be toooooo bad."

Good old tara, always the optimist. Jayde helpfully offers "Good luck with that."

Monday, 10:00am, Chatting to Michael.

Jayde wonders where Michael is and finds him upstairs reading through an occult book on demons and demonic realms. Nothing Jayde recognises.

Talk to michael about what he wants to do and what he sees happening. What will he do now that he knows the 'secret'. Michael is kind of depressed.

He thinks its like vietnam, with earth being vietnam and other dimensions being the US. He doenst see a point in endless fighting, but if there was something bigger then he'd help.

What battles should Jayde be fighting? Is patroling just a way to keep a rapid turn over of Slayers? Is patroling vital or just a waste of time? What should Jayde do? Neither J or M know. Oh well. Everyone is confused.

Michael talks about getting a specialised group together and how it would be so much easier to be the slayer if that was the case, but he doesnt know how to do it. Eg, the Watchers for occult knowledge, the Golden Dawn and Lucy would be great to have helping the slayer do the hammering, but how do you do that without them taking over or controling you? Its a problem.

Jayde thinks about changing the universe to 'make' this ideal group to help her. That could work out if she knew how to do it.

Occult knowledge. Occult ability. Thumping power. Mobility. All these things would be great to have.

Michael talks about a group, with the council's influence in each city, with humans doing the nightly patrols, and an anti-apocalypse fighting group with the Golden Dawn's magic, and a combat group of Jayde and some mages and backup of trained humans.

Lets not get involved in governments, eh? Maybe they will leave us alone if we dont play on their turf, ie occult stuff only.

Jayde thinks about the casino deal where Jayde was offered lots of stuff for 'access' (or 'farming' rights) to Earth. Hmmm. Could they help? Maybe not.

Plan is to magic the world into a state when Jayde has this amazing support organisation. Eeeeeeeasy!

Monday, 12:00am, Crime time at the Mall!

Willow comes back for lunch, gets explained about the buffy bot social worker thing. Hmmm, buffy bot reprogramming.

Apparently there is crime at the mall!!! Everyone gets ready.

Eddy is downstairs talking to Tara and Willow.

Giles talks to Eddy and invites him along. Eddy gives Giles some bits on the Black chronicles. Everyone else thinks that its weird.

Arrive at the mall. Michael, Giles, Eddy. Jayde, Tara, Willow and Izmay. Split up and look for anything weird then tackle it as a group.

Izmay isnt magical, she was 'streamed' in her schooling when she was 5 by the Golden Dawn.

Get call from michael. Go spot the guy. Head down to confont the guy.

Approach the guy, he pulls out a stop sign, eddy mutters something and mullet man is knocked forward by the restroom door behind him. J grabs him and unmasks the evil that is The Mullet.

He pulls some cards from his jacket and a stuggle ensues between Jayde and MM, scattering paper with Bonjovies greatest hits request and backorders for WWF dvds. Mullet man holds up a card with 'get her' and everyone charges Jayde.

*sigh* Sucks to be the Slayer.

Jayde vrs everyone + mullet man! Tonight on World Slayer Trials. WST, tonight at 11. Be there! (And bring a Bud!)
