Secret GM stuff.

Notes
The player Im running this for hasnt read any traveller material so
Ive made a number of changes to the background to get the game going.
I wanted the player not to need to know all the background, so I
picked a pretty close to earth system to start the player on.
That ended up being Louzy/Jewel.
I ruled that Louzy had previously been redzoned by the scouts because
it wasnt ready for contact, but recently contact has been made and
stuff worked out. Louzy is now opened (maybe Amber or just out of Amber)
and only starting to realise just what a large empire surrounds it.
The player decided to be an engineer, so I decided that she one was
of a select number who had been shipped offworld to learn the new
space tech. So the player 'spent' a chunk og time learning gravics and
engineering at orbital facilities on Efate.
The PC thus comes from Louzy and doesnt need any 'imperial baggage'
about how the universe works. I can introduce that as the game
goes along (Hmmmm fish out of water game :). The game is about
learning about the imperium and the surrounding systems. And it's a
fun fun game so far :).
I started the game with Chamax Plague/Horde (yes the bug hunt on the
low tech world :). Sally (the PC) was thrown together with the
offworld crew of the stranded ship and together they saved the planet.
Sally then signed up with the offworlders and hit the stars.
Storyline
Dont run the TAS news at the same rate I did in my plot file :(.
I ran the events upto 1107 too quickly, now I have lots of
adventures to add and Im almost at the vital 1107 events. Now Im going
to have to make up news to 'pad out' the TAS news until I get to the
1107 surprise :-). Dont make the same mistake. :)
When I first started to run this game, I went through the list of
adventures that I had and worked out which ones I wanted to run.
From there I tried to put them into an order to get a sequence of
how the metaplot would run.
As a byproduct of this I rediscovered how much I loved John M
Ford's work :). He wrote a kick ass trek novel (the Final Reflection)
and a lot of traveller journal adventures.
Oh and my player was a newbie and, because I was reading
MegaTraveller, was mostly convinced that the 'big thing' that was
going to happen was the assassination of the Emperor. :) So, lets be
ready for that TAS NEWS Surprise at 1107 :).
Anyway, here is my list of what Im running and the
subplots that Ive added in to link to future adventures.

Aliens crash on a low tech world and some hightech visitors
save the day. Forces my 'lowtech' player to join up with her
future crewmates.

Spotting a weird wreck of an octogon building on Efate makes our
player wonder why there is one on Louzy and Efate. Just wait 'till she
sees all the other ones.

A routine refueling goes wrong at Komesh where comms band problems
almost cause disaster for our fearless crew.

Mysterious murders, robots, lasers and it's all in one story!
This just ended up plugging in directly after Chill.
It required a [Low tech world, preferably war/red zone?] and that
seemed to match pretty well the StFoy of Chill, so I added it after
that. plus it helped get our heroes to be heroes :)

Early as possible
Given we have a one eyed scout, it shouldnt be too hard to start a
bar-room brawl. :) Seed for Twighlights peak. Get players looking for
octogon buildings etc.

Ancient nano tech inside drone coyns infects our player causing
all sorts of wild stuff.

changed. General tinkering.

finished just as Zho arrive.),
A drifting ship needs the players attention and some nasties
that live inside it.
- A new ship for the group (useful for post war zipping
round systems, given how it refuels.)
- A chance for the engineering character to 'redesign a
ship' and do some engineer stuff!

I figure if you take annic nova, remove the book3 drives, the computer
and the two 40ton shuttles, you can add a 180ton shuttle with heaps of
manover drive, fuel refining and still have enough room in the ship
for a bigger computer, manover 1 and a book5 jump. It'll cost you though.
I assume this will take a few months, so Ill need to let the players keep
adventuring :) in the mean time.

Players hunt for the remains of an ancient base and a lost
crew's forced stopover. Locate some ancient toys and a Zho base.

Investigation of the assassination of an imperial navy admiral.
Scheduled to run just before the war. Let the players investigate Ing-gvar
assassination activity and those evil zho's.

Last adventure?
Having read GURPS: transhuman space, it seemed like an interest
story to run for the Louzy system as it comes to terms with technology.
The tech in transhuman seems to be more '1990's than traveller's
'1970's tech, so I was thinking that it would fit pretty well if
Sally, our ancient visiting player, somehow 'uplifted' Louzy to
transhuman type tech (and that would make it a match for Efate too
and keep everything interesting).
Anyway, thats a way off yet. :) Ive got a whole war to do yet.
